Darragh McCarthy
Darragh McCarthy founded FinTrU in 2013 and serves as CEO, overseeing operations and strategic direction. With over 30 years of experience in financial services, he founded FinTrU to meet the demand of global investment banks for expertise in navigating complex regulations.
Under his leadership, FinTrU has become a leading provider of technology-enabled Client Lifecycle Management solutions. The company employs 1,400 people across the UK, the Republic of Ireland, Portugal, and the US, opening its New York office in 2020.
While FinTrU is profit-driven, Darragh is passionate about creating high-quality professional employment and inspiring entrepreneurship. Before joining FinTrU, he spent 18 years at Morgan Stanley, holding roles such as Head of Fixed Income Sales and Global COO for the Institutional Securities Group.
Darragh serves as President of the Belfast Chamber Board and sits on advisory boards for the City of London and the Centre for Democracy and Peace Building. In 2024, he received an Honorary Doctorate from Ulster University, and in 2025, an Honorary OBE for services to Northern Ireland’s economy. Originally from County Cork, he now lives in Belfast with his wife and three children.
