Chairman of the Board of IMPAC, the largest productivity enhancement company in the world, James Irwin is considered a visionary in his field. When he purchased IMPAC in 1972, it had six employees. Today, it has a worldwide staff of 1,500 working on more than 300 projects annually. Despite his phenomenal success, Irwin continues his hands-on contact with every aspect of the business.
Deeply proud of his Irish heritage, Irwin holds both American and Irish passports and makes regular visits to Ireland. IMPAC’s European operations are headquartered in Dublin. Last year Irwin committed over $3 million to create a fund for the International IMPAC Dublin Literary Award which will be sponsored in part by the City Corporation of Dublin. Born in New York City, Irwin attended Columbia and Fordham Universities. He is married and has three children.
