John Cusak
Actor
While the entire Cusack family is known for its acting ability, John Cusack caught – and held – the attention of the movie-going public with his role as a crafty con artist in The Grifters, in which he starred with Angelica Huston.
Since then he has appeared in Woody Allen’s Bullets Over Broadway, and the movies Eight Men Out, Say Anything, and The Sure Thing. He made cameo appearances in Robert Altman’s satirical movies the Players and Bob Roberts. This year Cusack was seen in perhaps his juiciest role – opposite Al Pacino in City Hall, set in the New York City mayor’s office.
He is already working on his next project, Grosse Pointe Blank, which he will also produce and co-write. But following in the family tradition, Cusack has an abiding love for the theater. In Chicago, he formed the New Criminals Theater Company, and has directed four plays there, one of which won him a Jeff Citation for Best Director of Chicago’s Joseph Jefferson Awards. John Cusack lives in Los Angeles.
