Marion S. Cox

Marion Cox is a senior vice president of MBNA America, the world’s largest independent credit card issuer. Cox joined MBNA in 1991 and is currently responsible for directing the company’s E-Business online banking and operations. She directs production processes for MBNA’s online banking websites, products and services, and she is responsible for ShopSafe; the online virtual account number service, and Visa and MasterCard’s secure authentication services.

Prior to joining the E-Business Division in 2000, Cox directed the Information Security Division for the corporation worldwide. She earned her bachelor’s degree in English and French from University College Dublin, Ireland. She obtained her CISA in 1991 and is a member of the Computer Security Institute, the Information Systems Audit and Control Association, and has been active with Girls, Inc., the Boys & Girls Club of Delaware, Meals on Wheels, and Child Inc. Her parents Gerard and Breda O’Leary are from County Cork. Cox is married with one daughter and her notable personal quote is: “When the going gets tough, the tough get going.”
