Martin Cottingham

Avison Young

Martin J. Cottingham is a Principal specializing in transaction management in Avison Young’s New York office. A real estate veteran with over 29 years of experience, Marty’s success leading major initiatives is the product of his hard work, knowledge of the industry and unique background.  Marty helps lead a global corporate real estate practice that delivers real estate solutions to several fortune 100 firms. He is a leader of the Avison Young Nonprofit Practice that assists all types of nonprofits and schools with their real estate and construction development needs. Marty was born, raised and continues to live in Windsor Terrace, Brooklyn with his wife, son, daughter, and extended family. Marty traces his most recent Irish lineage through his paternal grandparents. His grandfather, John Cottingham is from Clifden, County Galway and his grandmother, Nora Cottingham is from Swinford County Mayo. He is president of the Irish American Building Society, a board member of LaSalle Academy, Futures in Education, YMCA, and the Cathedral Club of Brooklyn. He is also, Co-Chair Queens Chamber of Commerce Real Estate Committee, and a member of the Public Policy Committee CoreNet Global, the U.S. Ireland Council and the Knights of Saint Patrick.
