Michael Dennis Meehan is a Managing Director at Morgan Stanley, where he serves as Global Head of Financial Crimes, overseeing efforts to combat money laundering, sanctions evasion, corruption, and other financial crimes. Before joining Morgan Stanley, he spent over twenty years at Goldman Sachs, where he held various senior risk management roles.
A first-generation Irish American, Michael is the son of immigrants from County Clare – his father from Newmarket-on-Fergus and his mother from Lissycasey. Growing up, he spent his summers in Ireland with his grandparents and extended family, fostering a lifelong connection to his Irish heritage. His father was a classmate of President Michael D. Higgins at Ballycar National School, a reminder of the enduring ties between Ireland and its diaspora across the Atlantic.
Michael graduated with honors from the College of the Holy Cross. He is a member of the United States Olympic & Paralympic Committee’s Ethics and Compliance Committee and serves on the Board of Directors of the College of the Holy Cross Alumni Association. He lives in Garden City, Long Island, New York, with his wife, Lizbeth, and their sons, Michael William and Luke Patrick.
