Michelle Ruane

BNY

Michelle Ruane is a Relationship Manager within Corporate Trust at BNY. BNY Corporate Trust combines global scale, trusted execution and innovation, supporting approximately $15 trillion in debt securities across 15 countries. As a strategically important business for BNY, Corporate Trust helps clients access the debt capital markets through trustee, agency and administrative services. Serving many of BNY’s largest institutional clients, the business is recognized as a market leader across multiple sectors.

Born in London, Michelle has also lived in Sydney and Dublin. In 2024, she relocated to New York with BNY and is now based in Manhattan, an opportunity she describes as professionally rewarding and exciting.

Michelle’s family roots are in Belmullet, Co. Mayo, where her parents, Anne and Pat, are from. The family retains strong ties to the area and has a holiday home there, where Michelle regularly spends time. A former Irish dancer, she competed at the World Championship level and also played a number of traditional Irish instruments, including the tin whistle and mandolin. Her achievements in Irish music include competing at both the Fleadh Cheoil na hÉireann and the All-Britain Fleadh. After years of following Mayo through heartbreak, she was delighted to be in Croke Park for their All-Ireland victory this year.
