Lucera

A native of Castlebar, Co. Mayo, Peter Durkan holds a degree in Mathematics and Computing from NUI Galway and a Master’s in Financial Mathematics from Dublin City University. He moved to the United States in 2003 with First Derivatives, the Northern Ireland-based fintech firm, where he held senior technology and trading roles before joining Cantor Fitzgerald as Director of Technology for High-Frequency Trading from 2010 to 2013.

In 2013, Peter co-founded Lucera Financial Infrastructures, where he serves as CEO, guiding the company’s vision and technology strategy. Lucera provides software and infrastructure for trading, delivered as a secure, on-demand platform supported by a global network with data centers in New York, Chicago, London, Frankfurt, Singapore, and Tokyo. Throughout his career, Peter has designed and built several large-scale trading and analysis platforms, and he remains actively involved in Lucera’s system architecture and implementation.

Peter lives in Garden City with his wife, Kristen, and their two children. He returns to Mayo regularly to visit family.
