Ronan Harty

A partner at Davis Polk & Wardwell, a preeminent global law firm, headquartered in New York, Ronan Harty joined Davis Polk in 1986. Recognized internationally for his expertise in antitrust, his practice focuses on U.S. and cross-border M&A, joint ventures, and enforcement agency investigations.
Ronan has served in leadership positions in the antitrust community for many years. He was the editorial board chair of the American Bar Association’s flagship antitrust publication, Antitrust Law Developments (9th edition).
He serves as the Board Secretary and chair of the Nominating Committee at Legal Services NYC, the largest civil legal aid organization in the US.
Born in Dublin, Ronan attended Terenure College, where he played on the Junior and Senior Cup rugby teams. He graduated first in his law school class at University College Dublin in 1984, and went on to receive a master’s degree in law at the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor. In 1991, Ronan was a stagiaire in the cabinet of Sir Leon Brittan, the Competition Commissioner at the European Commission in Brussels. He now lives in New York City with his wife, Maggie, and his three daughters, Ellen, Sarah, and Kate.
