Sean T. O’Brien

Sean T. O’Brien is a Managing Director at Bank of America/Merrill Lynch, where he is responsible for equity sales and trading, including managing the equity block trading desk. Sean started his career on the NYSE with Adler Coleman in 1993 and joined Bank of America/Merrill Lynch in 1995. After nearly 20 years on the NYSE, which included maintaining relationships with over 600 listed companies, Sean transitioned to working directly with Merrill’s financial advisors and their largest clients. He also mentors recent hires and recruits new talent for BofA/Merrill. He puts a tremendous emphasis on ‘your word is your bond,’ and ‘you only get one reputation on Wall Street.’

A passionate believer in paying it forward, Sean, graduated with a degree in Mineral Economics from Penn State University and remains engaged with the lacrosse team. He has been a member of the Society of the Friendly Sons (and Daughters) of St. Patrick in the city of New York since 1995 and looks forward to serving as the next President.

Sean currently lives in Ossining with his wife, Stacey, who teaches at Sleepy Hollow HS. They are both extremely proud of their three girls. Bailey is a genetic counselor. Jackie is an investment banker at UBS. Morgan has just started her career in Atlanta with Merrill Lynch Private Wealth.

Sean traces his roots to Offaly and Belfast on his father’s side and to Co. Mayo, on his mother’s side.
