A CANNABIS factory has been discovered following a raid on a property in Co. Tyrone. Police arrived at the house in Omagh at around 2.40pm on February 28. A REPUBLICAN group has claimed responsibility for a paint attack on a statue of Queen Victoria at a hospital in Belfast. Giant statue of St Patrick holding pint of Guinness is removed from Dublin pub

A GIANT statue of St Patrick holding a pint of Guinness has been removed from outside a Dublin pub just one day after it appeared. The ban restricting Catholics from attending Trinity College Dublin is finally lifted on this day in 1970. Through the help of the then Archbishop of Dublin John McQuaid, the Roman Catholic church removes its policy of disapproval or even excommunication for Catholics who enrolled at Trinity College without the proper permission. Authorities at the school also allow for a Catholic chaplain to be based at the college.
