POLICE have identified a young woman who died on St Stephen’s Day after being involved in a collision in Co. Fermanagh earlier this month. Hundreds of new speed cameras will come into effect in Ireland on New Year’s Day

HUNDREDS of new speed cameras will become operational across Ireland on New Years Day. A total of 390 new safety cameras will be turned on on January 1, the gardaí confirmed in a statement. More than 200 organ transplants carried out in Ireland this year

NEWLY revealed figures show more than 200 organ transplants were carried out in Ireland in 2025. The HSE’s Organ Donation Transplant Ireland Office (ODTI) has confirmed that 202 organ transplants took place this year up to December 29. After the start of the Irish Rebellion of 1798 on May 24, the United Irishmen were defeated by British forces on this day in 1798. Historically known as the Battle of Vinegar Hill, almost 1,000 rebels lost their lives in this battle, which marked a turning point and eventual loss in the Rebellion of 1798.
