Irish team selected for World Cross Country Championships

FOUR Irish athletes have made the team for the World Cross Country Championships. The squad, announced yesterday, will represent Ireland in the competition which takes place in Tallahassee, Florida on January 10, 2026. Stormont ringfences £119m to pay for PSNI data breach

A FORMER PSNI officer has been arrested on suspicion of serious sexual offences. After the start of the Irish Rebellion of 1798 on May 24, the United Irishmen were defeated by British forces on this day in 1798. Historically known as the Battle of Vinegar Hill, almost 1,000 rebels lost their lives in this battle, which marked a turning point and eventual loss in the Rebellion of 1798.
