POLICE in Yorkshire have said they are supporting a family in Ireland following the discovery of human remains in a burnt-out vehicle. Single Irish ticket scoops record-breaking €250m on EuroMillions

A SINGLE ticket bought in Ireland has landed the €250m jackpot in Tuesday's EuroMillions draw, making it the country's highest-ever National Lottery win. Man in his 40s dies in motorcycle collision in Co. Mayo

A MAN has died following a road traffic collision in Co. Mayo on Tuesday. The single-vehicle collision involving a motorcycle occurred on the R331 at Friarsquarter East, Ballinrobe, Co. The Irish government announced on this day in 1999 that the state had purchased the 550 acre site of the Battle of the Boyne for £9 million. In 1690, forces under rival claimants to the English throne, Catholic King James and Protestant King William, met at the River Boyne near Drogheda and fought. The battle was won by William, ending James’s quest to regain the crown and instituting the Protestant rule in Ireland. The site, which was purchased from an unidentified business man, was redeveloped and is now a tourist centre.
