A MAN has been arrested on suspicion of the murder of Annie McCarrick. The 26-year-old went missing from her home in Dublin on March 26, 1993. The man, who is in his 60s, was arrested in Dublin, Gardaí confirmed this morning. Shop owner fined for selling nicotine product to a child

A SHOP owner in Belfast has been fined for selling a nicotine product to a child. Michael O’Reilly, of O’Reilly’s on Donegall Street, pleaded guilty to the offence at a hearing at Belfast Magistrates Court on June 10. Burglar arrested and stolen jewellery worth €100k recovered

Barry Yelverton introduced the bill that will become Yelverton’s Act on this day in 1781. The bill was a modification to Poyning’s Law, which was already in place, and stated that all laws passed by both houses of the Irish parliament should be forwarded to England to become law by royal assent. This took the power to amend laws away from the Irish privy councils.
