THE operator of Dublin Airport has donated eight hectares of land it owns to the local authority to provide public access to the wildlife sanctuary. Community-minded councillor set to become Deputy Lord Mayor of Belfast

The 50th anniversary of Fleadh Nua took place in Ennis, Co. Clare, drawing thousands of traditional music fans from around the world. Fleadh Nua, which promotes Irish traditional music and culture, is one of many festivals that take place in Ireland during the summer, but it is credited with being the premier event of its kind. The Fleadh began in Dublin in 1970, where it was held in Croke Park, but it has been held annually in May in Ennis since 1974. The ever-growing event now takes place over 9 days and features concerts, singing, dancing and other performances.
