Ireland hits record high for exports – despite dramatic fall in goods sent to Britain

IRELAND hit a record high for goods exports in 2024 newly released figures reveal. Data released by the Central Statistics Office (CSO) shows goods exports rose to €224bn last year. Two men arrested after fatal stabbing attack in Dublin

TWO men have been arrested in connection with a fatal stabbing attack in Dublin over the weekend. Date Holyhead Port set to fully reopen confirmed

THE date that Holyhead Port is expected to reopen fully has been confirmed by its operators. All sailings were cancelled at the port from December 7, 2024 after Storm Darragh caused significant damage to two of its berths. Last month access to the Terminal 5 ferry berth was restored. Man found guilty of 2017 rape and murder of Irish backpacker in India

A MAN has been found guilty of the rape and murder of Irish backpacker Danielle McLaughlin in Goa, India eight years ago. The 28-year-old was found deceased in the Canacona area of Goa in March 2017. Denis Johnston, Irish playwright and protege of W.B. Yeats and George Bernard Shaw, was born on this day in 1901. Johnston’s first play, “The Old Lady Says No!” helped establish his career as a playwright. “The Moon in the Yellow River” (1931) is perhaps his most well known play.
