Motorcyclist dies in Limerick collision

A MOTORCYCLIST has died after being involved in a collision in Co. Limerick. Gardaí were called to the single vehicle incident on the R519 in Callahow, Dromcollogher at around 7pm on October 12. Gardaí investigate discovery of two bodies in Co. Clare

AN GARDA SÍOCHÁNA has launched an investigation following the discovery of two bodies in Co. Clare. The bodies, believed to be that of a man in his 80s and a woman in her 90s, were found at a residential property in Doolin late on Saturday night. Irish film and television actor Noel Purcell was born in Dublin on this day in 1900. Purcell began his acting career at an early age, debuting on Dublin’s Gaiety Theater stage at the age of 12. He also did vaudeville as a boy. He moved to film, acting in 1947’s “Captain Boycott,” and played a crew member on Ahab’s ship in 1956’s “Moby Dick.” Purcell appeared in several British TV series. He was awarded with the Freedom of the City of Dublin award in 1984.
