POLICE in Belfast are treating damage to an Irish language sign as a 'hate-motivated' incident. The incident happened in the east of the city at around 8.15pm last night. Man dies following three-vehicle collision in Co. Kilkenny

A MAN has died following a three-vehicle collision in Co. Kilkenny. The incident occurred on the N10 at Templemartin at around 4.30pm on Saturday. Two other people injured in the collision were taken to hospital for treatment. Appeal for witnesses after motorcyclist dies following Galway collision

A MAN has died following a collision in Co. Galway this morning. The single vehicle incident involving a motorcycle happened on the N65 at Kilcooley in Loughrea at around 6.25am today. A MAJOR cross-border police investigation is underway after a masked gang stole more than £1 million during an armed robbery at a cash machine. Irish film and television actor Noel Purcell was born in Dublin on this day in 1900. Purcell began his acting career at an early age, debuting on Dublin’s Gaiety Theater stage at the age of 12. He also did vaudeville as a boy. He moved to film, acting in 1947’s “Captain Boycott,” and played a crew member on Ahab’s ship in 1956’s “Moby Dick.” Purcell appeared in several British TV series. He was awarded with the Freedom of the City of Dublin award in 1984.
