A TEENAGER has died from injuries sustained when a bus and an e-scooter collided in Co. Waterford. The incident happened at around 1.10am this morning on the R680 Cork Road. THE Irish Government has appointed a chairperson for an inquiry into the use of an epilepsy drug which can cause birth defects if taken by pregnant women. Man charged over murder of 69-year-old found dead in his home

A MAN has been charged in connection with the murder of John Connolly who was found dead at his home in Lincoln. The 69-year-old’s body was found at his home in Portland Street at around 11.18am on Tuesday, June 18. AER LINGUS has announced the cancellation of hundreds of flights as strike action by its pilots gets underway. THE family of much-loved Irish journalist Tommie Gorman have paid an emotional tribute to him following his death earlier this week at the age of 68. Frank Patterson, known as “Ireland’s Golden Tenor”, died on this day in 2000 at the Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center in New York. Born in Co. Tipperary in 1938, Patterson started singing as a young boy with his local church choir. He moved to Dublin in 1961 to enroll at the National Academy of Theater and studied acting and received vocal training. While studying in Paris, he caught the attention of Philips Recording Company after a radio broadcast. He signed a deal with the company and recorded his first record “My Dear Native Land.” He moved to the U.S. where he achieved the most success, selling out New York’s Carnegie Hall. He performed for Presidents Ronald Reagan and Bill Clinton.
