A MAN has been arrested in connection with rioting that occurred in Dublin last November. It brings to 40 the total number of arrests made in connection with the disorder. THE FATHER of Dáithí Mac Gabhann, the young boy who successfully fronted a campaign to change Northern Ireland's transplant laws, has been awarded an MBE. Tributes paid to ‘kind and pleasant’ teen who died following Co. Fermanagh collision

TRIBUTES have been paid to a teenager who passed away days after a collision in Co. Fermanagh. Oisin Gregg, 18, was involved in a two-vehicle collision in Kesh last Friday, June 7. Actor Richard Todd, who was nominated for an Academy Award for his role as Cpl. Lachlan McLachlan in 1949’s The Hasty Heart, was born on June 11, 1919 in Dublin. After training for a military career, Todd changed his sights and enrolled at the Italia Conti Academy of Theater Arts in London. He first appeared in a production of Twelfth Night in 1936. Todd enlisted in the British Army during World War II. After his successful role in The Hasty Heart, he appeared in several more films including The Longest Day (1962.) He was appointed an Officer of the Order of the British Empire in 1993 and died on December 9, 2009.
