Shock as gun found by graveyard where local people ‘pay respects to loved ones’

A COMMUNITY has been left in shock after a gun was found in an area close to a graveyard. The suspected firearm was found in Ardmore in Derry yesterday “in the vicinity of a graveyard” the PSNI has confirmed. Derry Mayor ‘honoured’ as Mayor of Bethlehem agrees to cities being twinned

THE Mayor of Bethlehem has welcomed a motion by Derry City Council to twin the two cities. In January it was agreed at a full meeting of the Derry City and Strabane District Council that they would reach out to the authorities in Bethlehem, on the West Bank in Palestine, to start the twinning process. Clan Na Gael, the American counterpart to Ireland’s revolutionary Irish Republican Brotherhood, was founded on this day in 1867. John Devoy, Daniel Cohalan and Joseph McGarrity help form the brotherhood in New York, with the purpose of securing an independent Ireland.
