A FAMILY have paid tribute to a mother-of-seven who was found dead at a property in Coventry last week. Pauline Sweeney, 50, was found with serious stab wounds at an address in Long Close Avenue on Wednesday, March 20 and died a short time later. Gardaí launch appeal to find owner of urn with ‘Dad’ inscription

GARDAÍ in Co. Wicklow have a launched an appeal to find the owner of an urn that is inscribed with the word 'Dad'. Woman due in court after €300,000 worth of cannabis seized at Dublin Airport

A WOMAN is due to appear in court today after Revenue seized €300,000 worth of cannabis at Dublin Airport on Tuesday. Man arrested after gardaí seize four viable explosive devices in Dublin

A MAN in his 40s has been arrested after gardaí seized four viable explosive devices during a search of a vehicle in Dublin. Gardaí revealed that army bomb disposal experts were called to the scene in the Dublin 22 area on Sunday afternoon to remove the devices. After the start of the Irish Rebellion of 1798 on May 24, the United Irishmen were defeated by British forces on this day in 1798. Historically known as the Battle of Vinegar Hill, almost 1,000 rebels lost their lives in this battle, which marked a turning point and eventual loss in the Rebellion of 1798.
