More than 200 organ transplants carried out in Ireland this year

NEWLY revealed figures show more than 200 organ transplants were carried out in Ireland in 2025. The HSE’s Organ Donation Transplant Ireland Office (ODTI) has confirmed that 202 organ transplants took place this year up to December 29. Higher sentences to be introduced for attacks on police officers

LEGISLATION is set to be brought forward in Northern Ireland to allow for higher sentences for those who attack police officers. Witness appeal after home set alight with two people inside

DETECTIVES have appealed to the public to come forward with information after a house was set alight in Belfast. PSNI officers were called to a home in the Lowwood Park area of the city on December 28. Just before the publication of the Saville Report, the inquiry into Derry’s 1972 Bloody Sunday, British Prime Minister David Cameron makes a speech at Westminster Abbey in which he says that the event was “unjustified and unjustifiable.” Cameron also apologizes on behalf of the British government. On this same day, thousands of people gather at the memorial and march to Guildhall, where Cameron’s speech is televised.
