Police name woman who died in Co. Antrim collision

POLICE have named a woman who died in a collision in Co. Antrim at the weekend as 81-year-old grandmother, Beatrice Higgins. Barry Yelverton introduced the bill that will become Yelverton’s Act on this day in 1781. The bill was a modification to Poyning’s Law, which was already in place, and stated that all laws passed by both houses of the Irish parliament should be forwarded to England to become law by royal assent. This took the power to amend laws away from the Irish privy councils.
