THREE men have been arrested after an attack overnight which saw a boat set alight and left a man hospitalised. The incident outside a boat club in the Beach Road area of Portballintrae in Co. Free contraception extended to women aged 32-35 in Ireland

FREE contraception will be extended to women aged between 32 and 35 in Ireland. The move, which takes effect next month, was announced by Health Minister Stephen Donnelly today. The ban restricting Catholics from attending Trinity College Dublin is finally lifted on this day in 1970. Through the help of the then Archbishop of Dublin John McQuaid, the Roman Catholic church removes its policy of disapproval or even excommunication for Catholics who enrolled at Trinity College without the proper permission. Authorities at the school also allow for a Catholic chaplain to be based at the college.
