Irish fintech company Fexco is creating 175 jobs over the next three years at its headquarters in Killorglin, County Kerry. A new card developed by FEXCO, a top finance company headquartered in Killorglin, Co. Kerry since 1981, aims to ease the burden placed on U.S. and Canadian tourists in Ireland when trying to reclaim the tax on purchases made while on vacation. William Trevor, short story-writer and novelist, was born in Co. Cork. Trevor, who has won the Whitbread Prize three times and has been short-listed five times for the Booker Prize, is considered one of Ireland’s greatest writers. In a rare interview with Irish America magazine in 1992 Trevor said, “I think we Irish are a nation of storytellers. If you study the way we argue, you find we sometimes do so by telling a story. We make points by telling stories. They tell far more stories in the Dail than they do in the British House of Commons. I can never explain why stories are natural in Ireland, but they are, and sometimes it’s better to leave it at that, and just say the are.”
