Madonna is developing a movie about an Irish town where locals become sex-crazed after smelling fumes from a Pfizer factory producing Viagra. Wrapping up production this summer is Dreamworks' remake of the 60's film, The Time Machine. Alfred Hitchcock, film’s master of suspense, was born on this day in 1899. Although commonly remembered for his British accent, Hitchcock was of both Irish and English descent. His mother was Irish born Emma Jane Whelan. His father’s mother was also Irish. Hitchcock was educated at a Jesuit school and remained a devout Catholic through out his life. Hitchcock also adapted Irish playwright Sean O’Casey’s “Juno and the Paycock” for the screen.
