Ralph Lauren Appoints Irish Woman as Inaugural Chief Digital Officer

Alice Delahunt, a County Wicklow native and Trinity College graduate, has been named the inaugural chief digital officer of Ralph Lauren. “So incredibly excited by the opportunity at hand, and humbled to move from one incredible brand to another,” Delahunt, who will relocate to New York from California for the position, wrote in an Instagram post announcing the move. Alfred Hitchcock, film’s master of suspense, was born on this day in 1899. Although commonly remembered for his British accent, Hitchcock was of both Irish and English descent. His mother was Irish born Emma Jane Whelan. His father’s mother was also Irish. Hitchcock was educated at a Jesuit school and remained a devout Catholic through out his life. Hitchcock also adapted Irish playwright Sean O’Casey’s “Juno and the Paycock” for the screen.
