Tiernan tours and guests on Letterman show

One of Ireland’s most talented come- dians, Tommy Tiernan, has been stateside recently and very busy. As we go to press, Tiernan’s Loose tour at the Actors Playhouse is wrapping July 15 and then he’s off to Toronto to headline the Irish Gala at the prestigious Just For Laughs Comedy Festival in Montreal. While he was in the Big Apple he made a guest appearance on The David Letterman Show and was well received.

Known for his shoot-from-the-hip style, Tiernan is not afraid of controversy and has expressed strong opinions about the Catholic church, sex, and politics in his comedy. While in New York, he also shot some of his documentary Jokerman, which traces his journey from playing the top-tier venues in Ireland to the States where he is a relative newcomer and has to pay his dues on the small-gig circuit. ♦
