Alice Delahunt, a County Wicklow native and Trinity College graduate, has been named the inaugural chief digital officer of Ralph Lauren.
“So incredibly excited by the opportunity at hand, and humbled to move from one incredible brand to another,” Delahunt, who will relocate to New York from California for the position, wrote in an Instagram post announcing the move. She previously served as global director of digital and social marketing for Burberry, where she has worked since 2011 and is credited with honing the brand’s digital aesthetic and her inclusion of LGBTQ content on their social channels. Delahunt was also recently included in the 2017 OUTstanding list by the Financial Times as one of the Top 50 Future Leaders.
During her tenure, Burberry signed on as a founding partner in a new Condé Nast venture, Them, which focuses on LGBTQ issues, and recently released a version of its classic plaid featuring a rainbow pattern in support of LGBTQ rights.
Commenting on the appointment, Ralph Lauren CEO Patrice Louvet said, “We are moving urgently to expand our digital presence all over the world and bringing in the right senior talent to help us deliver.” ♦
