COCAINE worth an estimated €10.6m was found hidden in a heavy goods lorry.
Gardaí from the National Drugs & Organised Crime Bureau (GNDOCB) and Waterford Drug and Crime Units seized the drugs while carrying out a series of operations this week.
A heavy goods vehicle was stopped on the M9 in Co. Kilkenny shortly after 10am on March 18.
Following that two businesses and a home were searched in Waterford.
The drugs were found in a ‘sophisticated vehicle concealment’“During the operation, some 152 kilograms of cocaine, which is valued at €10.6m, was discovered in a sophisticated vehicle concealment,” the Gardaí confirmed in a statement.
One man, aged 60 years old, was arrested in relation to facilitating and enhancing drug distribution activities for an organised crime group.
He remains in custody at a Garda station in the eastern region.

“The recently published European Union Serious and Organised Crime Threat Assessment (EU-SOCTA 2025) highlights that serious and organised crime undermines the very foundations of political, economic and social cohesion and stability through illicit proceeds, the perpetuation of violence and the extension of corruption.”
The cocaine seized in KilkennyShe added: “I thank the public for their support and encourage everybody to play their part. Report suspicious activity in confidence to the Garda Confidential Line at 1800 666 111.”
The police force shared footage of them making their drugs discovery via their social media channels.
The investigation is ongoing.
