The 2024 Wall Street 50 were celebrated at a gala dinner that took place at the magnificent New York Yacht Club on Wednesday, October 9th. It was a wonderful evening filled with laughter, music, and friends.
Consul General Helena Nolan congratulated the honorees and noted that in addition to the Irish gaining traction in corporate America, 650 Irish companies were now operating in the U.S. Her announcement raised hopes for a coordinated effort to connect those firms with the many Irish graduate students looking for work experience in the U.S.
Andrew McMahon, CEO and President of Guardian Life Insurance Company of America, was introduced by Eileen Murray, an Irish America Hall of Fame member and Guardian Life Independent board member. Both shared some stories and their belief in the Irish values of faith, family, education and hard work, passed down to them by immigrant parents and grandparents.
The evening started and ended with music – from legendary singer/songwriter Judy Collins to Broadway star Ciaran Sheehan, and the Irish folk band The Narrowbacks – founding member Barry Walsh is a Wall Street 50 honoree – it was a terrific night all around.
Congratulations to all of the honorees, you are a fantastic group of people.
