Dublin Airport apologises to customers who were ‘overcharged’ for car parking

September 11, 2025 by

DUBLIN airport’s operators have issued a public apology to car park customers who were overcharged due to a ‘pricing system error’.

“We want to sincerely apologise to a number of our car park customers who were mistakenly overcharged earlier this year due to a pricing system error linked to a special offer,” Daa said in a statement issued this week.

“As soon as we became aware of the issue after it was brought to the attention of the Competition and Consumer Protection Commission (CCPC) by customers, we launched a full investigation,” they explained.

“We identified the cause of the error and took immediate steps to put things right.”

The airport operators have confirmed that those affected were overcharged by amounts ranging from €1 to €64, with 90 per cent of them being overcharged by less than €12.

“Regardless of the amount, we understand that any overcharge is unacceptable, and we’re truly sorry for the inconvenience caused,” they state.

“We are contacting all affected customers directly to offer a full and unreserved apology,” they explained.

“Emails will be issued to those customers who were impacted in the next 24 hours.”

They added: “We’re also issuing a full refund which will issue in the next five to 10 working days for the entire cost of their booking, along with an additional discount to use on their next car park booking with us.”

Daa has confirmed that the “issue is now resolved”.

“We’ve put measures in place to ensure it doesn’t happen again,” they added.
