A host of Irish events took place in New York City in October and November, and photographer James Higgins was there to capture the highlights.

THE EMERALD GUILD SOCIETY held its annual Declan Hennessy Memorial Scholarship Awards at the Irish Consulate on Oct. 9.  emeraldguild.org

THE NEW YORK IRISH CENTER recently celebrated its 21st Annual Benefit.

Distinguished guests included State Senator Brian Kavanagh, Irish Consul General Gerald Angley, and Board Chairman Sean Mackin. Announced on the evening, and thanks to NY City Council nember Julie Won, the street in front of the center will be renamed New York Irish Center Way on Sat. Feb 7 at 1 P.M. in honor of 21 years of service to the community. All are welcome.  newyorkirishcenter.org  

KYLEMORE ABBEY  held its annual gala reception in the 101 Club in the Kalikow Building on Park Avenue on Nov. 4. The gathering celebrated and gave thanks for the completion of the repairs to Kylemore Abbey, Co. Galway.   kylemoreabbey.com

TOURISM IRELAND hosted an event at the New York Irish Arts Center inviting key U.S. broadcast media to attend a performance of The Druid Theatre’s Endgame by Samuel Beckett on Oct. 23. The play received excellent reviews. tourismireland.com 

THE IRELAND U.S. COUNCIL held its annual dinner at the New York Metropolitan Club on Nov.13. The 2025 award for Outstanding Achievement was presented to William J. “Bill” McCluskey, Chairman & CEO of Pluris Capital Group.  irelanduscouncil.com
