Armed robber threatens fast-food store staff with knife

A 35-YEAR-OLD man has been arrested following an attempted robbery at a fast-food store in Belfast. Thousands of pounds raised for Irish bus driver after ‘shameful and unjust’ sacking for punching thief

Female pedestrian in her 80s dies following Co. Down collision

Man dies and two women hospitalised following Dublin assault

A MAN has died and two women have been hospitalised following an early-morning assault in Dublin on Saturday. After the start of the Irish Rebellion of 1798 on May 24, the United Irishmen were defeated by British forces on this day in 1798. Historically known as the Battle of Vinegar Hill, almost 1,000 rebels lost their lives in this battle, which marked a turning point and eventual loss in the Rebellion of 1798.
