Witness appeal after home set alight with two people inside

DETECTIVES have appealed to the public to come forward with information after a house was set alight in Belfast. PSNI officers were called to a home in the Lowwood Park area of the city on December 28. Family pays tribute following death of young jockey Paul Kavanagh

TRIBUTES have been paid following the death of young jockey Paul Kavanagh. The Galway native, who was living in Limerick, died after being involved in a collision on Christmas Eve. Thomas Keneally, the Irish Australian author of Schindler’s Ark which would later become Schindler’s List, was born on this day in 1935 in Sydney, Australia. Keneally originally entered St. Patrick’s Seminary in the hopes of becoming a priest but left before he was ordained. He published Schindler’s Ark in 1982, which won him the Booker Prize and the notice of Steven Spielberg.
