A SHOP in Co. Limerick was celebrating this week after it was revealed it sold the winning ticket for Wednesday’s €5.5m Lotto Jackpot. Man arrested in Co. Louth after car hijacked in Belfast with girl inside

A MAN has been arrested in Co. Louth after a car was hijacked in Belfast with a 17-year-old girl inside. The vehicle was taken while it was parked in the Botanic Avenue area of the city with the girl in a passenger seat. ‘Depraved and dangerous’ rapist is handed life sentence

A RAPIST described as 'depraved and dangerous' by police has been handed a life sentence following a violent attack on a woman. Thomas Mulroy raped the woman at his home in Chatham, Kent in March 2021 and then stopped her from leaving the property. Two men ‘repeatedly kicked to the head’ by group of males during Newry assault

POLICE are appealing for information following a report of an assault in Newry in which two men were repeatedly kicked in the head. The incident happened at Trevor Hill in the early hours of this morning. 329 passengers were killed in a plane crash off the coast of Ireland. Air India flight 182 was en route from Montreal to Dehli, when it was blown up in Irish airspace by a bomb. Investigation into the flight led Canadian officials to believe that a Sikh militant group called Babbar Khalsa was responsible for the bombing. 280 Canadian citizens, 27 British citizens and 22 Indian citizens were lost, resulting in the largest mass murder in modern Canadian history. A monument remembering the event was unveiled in 1986 in Ahakista, Cork.
