Irish citizens urged to leave Lebanon ‘while still possible’

Police try to locate people who helped woman targeted in knife-point robbery

POLICE have appealed to members of the public to come forward after a woman was robbed at knifepoint in Belfast city centre. A MAN has thanked two gardaí for saving his life after they rescued him from the sea in Co. Galway. GARDAÍ have appealed for information on the whereabouts of a Co. Laois teenager who has been missing for almost a week. 329 passengers were killed in a plane crash off the coast of Ireland. Air India flight 182 was en route from Montreal to Dehli, when it was blown up in Irish airspace by a bomb. Investigation into the flight led Canadian officials to believe that a Sikh militant group called Babbar Khalsa was responsible for the bombing. 280 Canadian citizens, 27 British citizens and 22 Indian citizens were lost, resulting in the largest mass murder in modern Canadian history. A monument remembering the event was unveiled in 1986 in Ahakista, Cork.
