Cyclist dies in hospital after serious collision on Irish road

A CYCLIST who was involved in a collision in Co. Monaghan has died in hospital. Concerns grow for ‘high-risk’ Irish man now missing for five months

POLICE haven issued a renewed appeal for information on the whereabouts of a man who has been missing for more than five months. Jason Hughes was last seen on Friday, April 26. Hit-and-run driver reversed through garden wall at speed while children played nearby

POLICE have appealed for information after a driver reversed at speed through a garden wall while children were playing nearby. Following the incident in the Dunmurry area of Belfast city, the driver fled the scene. Forrest Reid, Irish novelist and literary critic, was born on this day in Belfast in 1875. To this day, Reid is regarded amongst the likes of J.M. Barrie and Hugh Walpole as a pre-war British boyhood novelist. His most famous work was Young Tom, for which he won a James Tait Black Memorial Prize in 1944.
