Immigration into Ireland at 17-year high new figures reveal

NEW figures have revealed that immigration levels into Ireland are at a 17-year high. Data released by Ireland’s Central Statistics Office (CSO) today show that in the year to April 2024, the population in Ireland rose by 98,700 people. Police name motorcyclist who died following collision in County Antrim

A MOTORCYCLIST who died after being involved in a collision in Co. Antrim has been named. Andrew Agnew died in hospital shortly after the incident which happened in Dunloy at around 8.20pm last night (August 26). Riots broke out in Londonderry after mid-Ulster MP Bernadette Devlin was arrested. Devlin, who participated in the Bogside riots of 1969, was sentenced to six months in jail. She had previously applied for an appeal, which was rejected by the Northern Ireland Court of Appeals. When police attempted to arrest Devlin at a roadblock in Londonderry, violence quickly escalated with the use of petrol bombs to which soldiers responded with tear gas.
