Four men due in court today over weekend disorder in Belfast

FOUR men are due to appear in court today following outbreaks of violence and disorder in Belfast at the weekend. Man in his 20s dies following collision in Co. Sligo

GARDAÍ have appealed for witnesses following a fatal road traffic collision in Co. Sligo this morning. Man handed life sentence after being found guilty of murdering his disabled father

A MAN who beat his disabled father to death after apparently mistaking him for an intruder has been handed a life sentence. After 38 years of occupation in Northern Ireland, the British Army officially withdrew their forces at midnight on July 31, 2007. “Operation Banner,” England’s longest continuous military operation, saw 300,000 British soldiers stationed in Northern Ireland through out the 38 years. Operation Banner concluded on July 31st, with 762 English soldiers dead in the wake of the campaign.
