POLICE have issued a renewed appeal for the public's help to help find James Carthy, who is wanted for breach of court bail. The 32-year-old from Dunsfold, Surrey has connections to Cranleigh and Farnborough and has recently been linked to Horsham. Arrest following death of man in Co. Kildare on Sunday

GARDAÍ have made an arrest following the death of a man in Co. Kildare on Sunday. Responding to an alert at a residential proporty in the Sallins Park area of Sallins at around 3.15am, gardaí discovered a man in his 30s with fatal injuries. Dozens of firefighters tackling huge gorse fire in Mourne Mountains

DOZENS of firefighters are currently tackling a huge gorse fire in the Mourne Mountains in Co. Down. Co. Carlow hit-and-run now being treated as murder investigation

AN INVESTIGATION into a fatal hit-and-run in Co. Carlow last month has been upgraded to a murder inquiry. The collision involving a car and a motorcycle occurred at Sandbrook, Ballon at around 10.30pm on Wednesday, April 24. Ireland’s Crown Jewels are found missing on this day in 1907, just before days before a state visit by King Edward VII and Queen Alexandra. The theft remains a mystery to this day. Arthur Vicars, Officer of Arms at Dublin Castle, held the jewels in his office and publicly accused his second in command, Francis Shackleton. Shackleton was exonerated and the case was never solved. Sir Arthur Conan Doyle used this historical event as the influence for his Sherlock Holmes story “The Adventure of the Bruce-Partington Plans.”
