THE FAMILY of a man who fatally stabbed six people at a shopping centre in Sydney on Saturday have said they are praying for the family and friends of the victims. Police officers and member of the public hospitalised following Newry collision

TWO police officers and a member of the public have been taken to hospital following a two-vehicle collision in Newry. Man in critical condition after Co. Down shooting

POLICE have appealed for information following a shooting in Co. Down that left a man in a critical condition in hospital. The man, aged in his 40s, was shot in the abdomen while in a car park in Rathriland Road, Banbridge shortly after 8pm on Friday. On this day in 1816, Dublin born playwright and politician Richard Brinsley Sheridan died in London. Sheridan was a member of the British House of Commons and is best remembered for his plays “A Trip to Scarborough,” “The Rivals,” and “The School for Scandal.” He was very well respected by his contemporaries and is buried at the Poet’s Corner at Westminster Abbey.
