Man extradited from Northern Ireland to Lithuania to stand trial for child sexual offence

A MAN has been extradited from Northern Ireland to Lithuania as part of an investigation into a child sexual offence. The 31-year-old was extradited today by officers from the PSNI's International Policing Unit (IPU), working in partnership with Lithuanian police officers. Three jailed for attempted murder of teenage boy

THREE men have been jailed for 32 years after being found guilty of the attempted murder of a 16-year-old boy. Ban on hedge-cutting comes into effect in Ireland this week

THE Irish Government has issued a reminder to the public that hedge-cutting becomes illegal across the country later this week. A seasonal ban takes effect every year prohibiting the cutting of hedges and the burning of land in Ireland. On this day in 1816, Dublin born playwright and politician Richard Brinsley Sheridan died in London. Sheridan was a member of the British House of Commons and is best remembered for his plays “A Trip to Scarborough,” “The Rivals,” and “The School for Scandal.” He was very well respected by his contemporaries and is buried at the Poet’s Corner at Westminster Abbey.
