Pizza shop destroyed by ‘vile’ robbers who rammed store and set it alight

A PIZZA shop in Belfast was destroyed this morning after robbers rammed a car into the building, robbed the premises and then set it on fire. The attack on Pizza Guyz in Anderstown Road, west Belfast happened at around 5am. Man arrested following serious assault which left victim in critical condition

AN arrest has been made after a serious assault in Westmeath left a man in critical condition in hospital. Gardaí were called to a disturbance involving two men outside a premises on Patrick Street in Mullingar in the early hours of January 7. This day officially marked the last day of the Irish War of Independence after a truce was agreed upon by Ireland and England. Starting on July 11, the IRA suspended efforts by their forces. The truce, which had been in talks since December of 1920, was decided on by Eamon de Valera and Lord Middleton and was formally signed by Dail members Robert Barton and Eamon Duggan and British Army commander Neville Macready.
