Staff left shaken after masked men rob shop at knifepoint

POLICE are appealing for witnesses to come forward after two men robbed a shop in Belfast at knifepoint. The men targeted the shop in the Ardoyne Road area of north Belfast last night (January 8) at around 7.25pm. A MAN from Merseyside has been sentenced to almost 30 years in prison for a string of historical sexual offences against children. Police launch attempted murder investigation after shots fired at house in Co. Derry

POLICE have launched an attempted murder investigation after shots were fired at a house in Co. Derry. The incident occurred in the Ardkill Road area of Ardmore at around 9.15pm on Saturday. This day officially marked the last day of the Irish War of Independence after a truce was agreed upon by Ireland and England. Starting on July 11, the IRA suspended efforts by their forces. The truce, which had been in talks since December of 1920, was decided on by Eamon de Valera and Lord Middleton and was formally signed by Dail members Robert Barton and Eamon Duggan and British Army commander Neville Macready.
