Man tied up and strangled with towel in Belfast assault

A MAN has been left with facial injuries after a serious assault in Belfast. Witness appeal after child dies in Co. Mayo collision

A CHILD has died after being struck by a car in Co. Mayo. The collision happened on the N59 at Eskeragh in Crossmolina, near Ballina at around 11.20am on Sunday morning, June 21. After 38 years of occupation in Northern Ireland, the British Army officially withdrew their forces at midnight on July 31, 2007. “Operation Banner,” England’s longest continuous military operation, saw 300,000 British soldiers stationed in Northern Ireland through out the 38 years. Operation Banner concluded on July 31st, with 762 English soldiers dead in the wake of the campaign.
