DOCTORS across Northern Ireland have begun a 24-hour strike today over pay. Consultants and Specialist and Associate Specialist (SAS) doctors are taking part in the industrial action, which began at 7am this morning and will continue until 7am tomorrow. Oireachtas committee recommends decriminalising the possession of drugs for personal use

AN OIRECHTAS committee has recommended repealing Section 3 of the Misuse of Drugs Act 1977 to decriminalise the possession of drugs for personal use. Google announces plans for energy storage facility in Co. Offaly

TECHNOLOGY company Google has announced plans for an energy storage facility in Co. Offaly. The long-duration energy storage plant at a former thermal power station near Rhode will be built in partnership with energy technology firm Energy Dome. After 38 years of occupation in Northern Ireland, the British Army officially withdrew their forces at midnight on July 31, 2007. “Operation Banner,” England’s longest continuous military operation, saw 300,000 British soldiers stationed in Northern Ireland through out the 38 years. Operation Banner concluded on July 31st, with 762 English soldiers dead in the wake of the campaign.
