Arrest after drugs and cash seized in Co. Carlow

A MAN has been arrested after gardaí seized drugs and cash worth more than €200,000 in Co. Carlow. More than 5500 cases of cervical cancer prevented in Ireland through screening

NEW research has shown that Ireland’s cervical cancer screening programme has prevented more than 5500 cases of the disease. Police name young woman who died on St Stephen’s Day following collision earlier this month

Three time Olympic gold medalist and Irish swimmer Michelle de Bruin was stripped of her swimming records on this day in 1999 and was officially banned from swimming competitively for four years after it was discovered that she had tampered with a required urine sample. De Bruin was suspected by many as having taken performance-enhancing drugs and the ban effectively ended her swimming career.
